Junior Deskundigen/ Youth Zone

Young people have an important role to play in ensuring the quality and continuity of development work. They are the employees, parents, teachers, managers and leaders of the future. It is their knowledge, skills and attitude that will influence development, both in the North and South. Therefore, a few years ago, CARE Nederland started the Youth Zone Programme for Young Professionals (previously named Junior Expert Programme).

What is the Youth Zone Programme of CARE Nederland?
CARE Nederland is a Dutch foundation and member of CARE International, an international federation of twelve development aid organisations and around 60 country offices in developing countries, collectively fighting poverty. The country offices work together with local partner organisations in projects to achieve better living conditions of vulnerable households with a focus on women and girls. On the one hand the Youth Zone Programme offers the Young Professional a unique opportunity to gain working experience in a developing country and to get to know the practice of development work. On the other hand the Young Professional contributes to the capacity development of the country office and its local partner organisations. CARE Nederland focuses on two themes: Peacebuilding and Disaster Risk Reduction. The vacancies within The Youth Zone Programme are therefore related to one of these themes.
