Global fight against poverty remains necessary

In over half a century, millions of people had a change to build a better life, thanks to the many hundreds of thousands of supporters of CARE International’s work in more than seventy countries.

However there are still mothers who have to support their families on less than $ 2 per day. Children do not go to school because they have to work or even worse, have to fight as a child soldier in a conflict. Luckily, many people find that unacceptable. They want to contribute to change and improve such misery and therefore support the work of CARE.

If you support CARE International, you support staff and volunteers, most of whom were born in a low income country. Through their work for CARE, they contribute to sustainable and structural poverty reduction and make people more resilient to the effects of climate change. Since they come from the countries themselves, knowing the habits and culture, they have easier access to local organizations and are able to react quickly when needed.

Eliminate Poverty

Fighting poverty means tackling the root causes of poverty. Poverty that can result from changes in the natural environment, conflict or a total lack of opportunities to go to school or work. CARE International provides food and water, but is also concerned with setting up health services and teacher trainings. And we do much more.

In 2009 and 2010 more than 14,000 employees implemented CARE projects in 37 countries. Also this year they are ready to fight global poverty. In all countries that it is needed. And how about you? Do you do wish to contribute from the Netherlands?
